Vacancy Distribution 2026

The 552 vacancies are distributed across three primary departments. The Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) post continues to offer the highest number of openings this year.

• Police Sub-Inspector (PSI): 310 Posts

• State Tax Inspector (STI): 236 Posts

• Assistant Section Officer (ASO): 06 Posts

• Total: 552 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the MPSC Group B Services, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized university.

• Final-year students are eligible to appear for the Preliminary examination.

• Proficiency in the Marathi Language is mandatory.

2. Age Limit (As of August 1, 2026)

• ASO & STI: 18 to 38 years (General Category).

   

• PSI: 19 to 31 years (General Category).

• Relaxation applies to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) as per government norms.

3. Physical Standards (For PSI Only)

• Male Candidates: Minimum height of 165 cm.

• Female Candidates: Minimum height of 157 cm.

   

MPSC Group B Selection Process

The selection is a rigorous three-stage process designed to test the academic and physical aptitude of the candidates:

1. Preliminary Examination (100 Marks): A common objective test for all posts.

2. Main Examination (400 Marks): Conducted for those who clear the Prelims.

    

3. Physical Test & Interview (PSI Only): Candidates for the PSI post must clear a physical efficiency test (100 marks) and a personal interview (40 marks).

How to Apply Online for MPSC Combined 2026

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the MPSC online portal starting April 10, 2026.

1. Visit the official website: mpsconline.gov.in.

2. Complete the User Registration and create a profile.

3. Upload the required documents (Photo, Signature, and Certificates).

4. Select the Group B Combined Preliminary Exam 2026.

5. Pay the application fee:

   • General/Open: ₹394

   • Reserved/EWS/Orphan/PwBD: ₹294

6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page.

Note: The deadline for online fee payment is April 30, 2026. If paying via SBI Challan, the last date is May 4, 2026.
