This exam comes under the MPSC Grade B and C Services category and attracts thousands of aspirants every year.

MPSC AMVI Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions to apply for the AMVI exam:


Nationality

  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen.


Age Limit

RelaxationAs per Government Rules

Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per MPSC norms.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following:

✔️ Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering

Accepted Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Automobile Engineering

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

  • Diploma in Production Technology

  • Diploma in Production Engineering

  • Diploma in Machine Tools Maintenance

  • Diploma in Fabrication Technology

  • Diploma in Fabrication & Erection Engineering

  • Diploma in Plant Engineering

  • Diploma in Metallurgy

✔️ Degree Qualifications:

  • B.E. Mechanical

  • B.E. Automobile

  • B.E. Production

  • B.E. Industrial

A 3-year diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering is mandatory for diploma holders.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in repair and maintenance of:

    • Light Motor Vehicles

    • Heavy Cargo Vehicles

    • Heavy Passenger Vehicles

Experience must be gained as a full-time employee in:

  • Central / State Government Departments

  • Authorized Institutions

  • Government-approved Organizations

✔️ Experience as a trainee/apprentice is also considered.

✔️ Candidates without experience must complete 1-year training during probation.

Driving License Requirement

Candidates must possess a valid driving license for:

  • Motorcycle with Gear

  • Light Motor Vehicles (LMV)

  • Transport Vehicles (Heavy Freight & Passenger Vehicles)

If Heavy Vehicle License is not available, it must be obtained during probation.
Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.

Physical Standards

👨‍🦱 Male Candidates

  • Height: Minimum 163 cm

  • Chest: 79 cm (5 cm expansion)

👩 Female Candidates

  • Height: Minimum 155 cm

  • Weight: Minimum 45 kg

MPSC AMVI Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of two main stages:

📌 Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

  • Total Questions: 100

  • Marks: 100

  • 1 Mark for Each Correct Answer

  • Negative Marking: ¼ Mark

  • Type: Objective (MCQs)


📌 Stage 2: Mains Examination

  • Type: Descriptive

  • Papers: Paper I & Paper II

  • Marks: 200 (100 Each)

  • Medium: English / Marathi


📌 Interview / Personality Test

Candidates who clear Prelims and Mains are called for:

  • Interview

  • Personality Assessment

Final selection is based on Merit List & Cut-off Marks.
